I was walking along a small beachy area near Kingston ON and initially passed this gorgeous owl off as a chunk of ice. As I looked across the water at the flocks of geese and swans swimming around, I realized that the chunk of ice had changed position slightly and was in fact an owl! It was raining a bit but I knew I needed to capture this moody scene, so I quickly grabbed my camera from my vehicle and slid out on to the ice on my stomach like a large, ungraceful otter. I watched from a distance for a little while, then went on my way, leaving the owl to sit in peace.
